Feeling militant this week. Maybe because certain individuals on Twitter are questioning Rosa Parks' contributions to America. Yes, we are here. This is happening. To quote Outkast:

Ah ha, hush that fuss

Donald Glover/Childish Gambino (who are one in the same) is truly living his best life. His album Awaken my Love topped many 2016 best of lists. I really love it. He also won the Golden Globe for his sitcom Atlanta, which is hilarious, strange, hazy and features a killer soundtrack. Glover wore a gorgeous brown velvet suit while accepting his award and gave a shout out to Migos, who are all over the Atlanta soundtrack.

I chose T-Shirt to go with Sweatpants

In another life, it might've been James Brown singing this song.

Hey, now you, drank up all my liquor, come on
What I'm supposed to do now?
And you talking all that shit, now come on
You gonna have to back it up
If I get too high now, sugar, come on
I might never come down
You know I might never come down
Let me get down
You might not never come down
Now let me come down
You might not never come down
Let me get down!

I heard this song playing in Artizia when I was looking at sweaters on sale. February's Interview Magazine features Solange being interviewed by Beyoncé.

Solange has long lived in the shadow of her older sister, but what makes this particular situation unique is not just that Solange made a gorgeous album last year, but Lemonade was amazing, too. 2016 sucked in many ways, but not in the quality of Knowles sisters' albums. Lemonade and A Seat at the Table are classics already. Also, Mrs. Carter is notoriously private, so this is a thing.

Just gorgeous.

Jazz Cartier is a Toronto rapper. He's got a bit of a dancehall feel to his stuff, which settles him firmly in good company in the Toronto hip hop scene.  He talked to Zane Lowe about his new album last week:

Jazz Cartier was also named one of Toronto Life's Best Dressed of 2016.  You know who else was?

It all comes back to baseball.

SZA dropped this this past week and sang it live on Jimmy Kimmel Live. It's too fresh for Spotify, so I added a different SZA track, this one with Chance the Rapper- I will always take a chance to include Chance.

Khalid is a child from Texas. This is a vulnerable song about love lost, but really catchy

"I'll keep your number saved 'cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you,"

Aw, muffin.

I wasn't feeling Lupe's other most recent track to I was relieved I felt this one. The beat. The beat. THE BEAT.

A few seasons ago, this was the non-José Bautista homer anthem. It would work for that again or it would work after we finally launch "Hooked on a Feeling" into the abyss where it belongs.

I miss baseball.

As I'm writing this on Sunday, it's exactly one month until pitchers and catchers.
